花田春赏，游人最怕遇着的是“抬眼满目是花，低头垃圾遍地”。仙桃，自有着天然的钟粹和润养，但如果不加养护或不当开发，也可能陷于脏乱。为确保水乡花海能够全天候长效保洁，安乡县里统筹，为每家村户配备了炉子、挖了塘坑，帮助农民给垃圾做分类。
青菜叶、瓜果皮等有机垃圾，依着老传统，放入热水坑沤成有机肥后，博撒田间；枯枝败叶、废纸片等出烟不大的垃圾，就投入塘坑中焚烧；对于废塑料袋、废旧金属等可回收垃圾，县尚就在村里组织专人入户收购，所收取的垃圾资源可以抵扣卫生保洁费，超出部分还可以到指定商店兑换日常用品，这些办法，大大提高了村民的热情和积极性。县委工宋云文说：“村里的垃圾处理分户消化，这就实现了不填埋，不乌染环境；不向外运输，节省了费用。”就这样，在不少大城市都做不好的垃圾分类处理，在这里实现了。
